| | The Canon EOS C500 4K Cinema Camera represents Canon's first foray into the world of 4K digital cinema production. Sharing a sensor with the earlier EOS C300 camera, the EOS C500 fulfills the potential of the large (Super 35mm-size), high-resolution (8.8 Mp effective) CMOS imager by offering full 4K RAW output via 3G-SDI.
The C500 also has a body type in common with the C300. Featuring large, accessible buttons with ridges dividing them, the EOS C500 has been designed expressly for the craft of digital cinema. Its signal output is similarly appropriate: At rates up to 60 frames per second, the 10-bit 4K RAW data stream output can be recorded to an approved external device (sold separately) at full resolution. Using a format called 4K half RAW, which halves the horizontal resolution, you can capture up to 120 fps to the external recorder by using both of the C500's 3G-SDI outputs.
The Canon EOS C500 integrates with time-tested feature film production workflows. As 4K RAW data is being recorded externally, you can record proxy files at 50 Mb/s to the camera's internal CF card so rough-cut or dailies editing can begin immediately after a scene is complete. For the widest latitude for color correction in post-production, the camera offers Canon's Log gamma mode, which results in excellent tonal reproduction in the highlight and lowlight regions of an image, and a greatly expanded dynamic range.
The EOS C500 features an EF mount for compatibility not only with Canon's existing broad range of DSLR lenses, but also with the burgeoning line of EF Cinema Zoom and Prime lenses. These lenses are designed to match up perfectly with the 3-perf Super 35mm-size CMOS sensor of this camera. Like the camcorder, these lenses (sold separately) were developed specifically for digital cinema, with engraved markings on angled surfaces in meters and feet and uniform front diameters for easy lens switching without having to reconfigure a matte box or follow focus gearing.

The FI+Z system controls the complete array of both lens and camera functions. The system is modular, giving the user a wide range of choices from a basic cable connected system to a full wireless microwave system. The System consists of the Hand Unit, Motor Driver, Digital Motors, optional Microwave Link, cables and motor mounting bracket.
The heart of the system is the Hand Unit. Its robust construction, ergonomic design and quick set-up have all contributed to its position as the "industry standard". It's carefully machined exterior matches the phenomenal precision offered by its advanced digital architecture. The unit provides 16 bits of position resolution - 1 part in 64,000 - for incredible smoothness. A bright bargraph display shows the position of the zoom lens. A "Snorkel Mode" enables electronic Pan and Horizon control of Snorkel lenses.
The zoom function is implemented by a Micro Force control. It can be directly connected to the Hand Unit using a bracket or operatedremotely using a cable. The camera may be started either from the Micro Force or from the Hand Unit.
A unique scale adjustment system makes set-up extremely quick. Any portion of the lens focus, iris, or zoom range may be expanded tothe full-scale range of the corresponding control knob with the touch of a switch. In the case of zoom, electronic limit stops can be set. An optional Remote Iris Box provides a separate control for the Iris function. It is automatically enabled when plugged intothe Iris accessory connector on the Hand Unit.
The Motor Driver MDR2 (shown below with the microwave transceiver) interfaces the FIZ Hand Unit with the DM-1, DM-2, and DM-3 digital motors. It provides 3 channels of motor drive, the camera run function for film cameras and the VTR function for video cameras. In addition, it allows wireless control of both the camera frame rate and shutter angle when used in conjunction with the F/X box.
The unit automatically calibrates the motors to the mechanical end limits of the lens. Each of the three channels has a separate three level torque limit selected by a switch.
The power requirements of the MDR2 are 24 - 30 VDC at .15A quiescent, 3A peak (all 3 motors stalled. When fitted with the Microwave transceiver, the operating voltage range is extended from 12 - 30 VDC input. |

Wireless 1080p60 4:2:2 The Bolt Pro Transmitter and Receiver set can wirelessly transmit 1080p60 4:2:2 up to 300 ft with zero delay.
1 TX to Multiple RX A second and even more than two receivers can be added into the setup. One Bolt Pro transmitter can transmit full 1080p60 HD video to multiple receivers simultaneously. Bolt receivers have dual 3G-SDI outputs, which can connect to field monitors, switchers, and also Teradek Cube Encoders.
WSDI Pro Connectivity Bolt transmits uncompressed video using WSDI Pro, which provides a wireless range of up to 300 ft and can coexist with other wireless equipment by dynamically adjusting the frequency bands used in real time. Bolt Pro transmitters have loop-through SDI outputs that you can connect to local monitors or recorders.
Internal Battery / P-Tap / Lemo DC for External Batteries The transmitter has an internal 70 minute battery and a P-tap input for connecting to camera batteries. An AC power supply is included for the receiver. The transmitter and receiver each also have a Lemo DC input for connecting external V-mount or Gold-mount batteries.
Rugged Design The transmitter has a milled aluminum body, and the receiver has an ABS plastic body. Both the transmitter and receiver have 1/4" mounting threads and can be attached right onto or next to the equipment you'll be using them with.
